The Virgin Courtesan

NEW MUSICAL WORKSHOP & PERFORMANCEMusic Theatre Montreal is excited to announce we will be collaborating with Frayne McCarthy and Blair Thomson to workshop their original musical, The Virgin Courtesan.
This will include two solid weeks of intensive rehearsals in September, 2012, the culmination of which, will be a public presentation of The Virgin Courtesan in concert form at the D.B. Clarke Theatre, the weekend of September 21st/22nd. Exact time and date to be announced.
Auditions The Virgin Courtesan auditions will be held on June 11th and 12th, 2012. Strong singers required. The music for TVC is demanding and might be loosely classified as "contemporary musical theatre." See Breakdowns below.
Applicants should prepare two Broadway-style songs (up tempo + ballad), which allows both the technical and emotional qualities of their voices to be revealed. Bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. If the key in which the singer sings is different than the published music, the transposition must be impeccably notated. Markings such as "coda,"repeat signs," "Dal Sengo" etc. should be highlighted.Auditions will be held at the D.B. Clarke Theatre, 1455 de Maisonneuve West. Please arrive 10 minutes before your audition time to sign in.
