The Lyric Theatre Singers are known to Montreal audiences for 22 years as the foremost interpreters of Broadway, jazz, and pop choral music. Their unique and dynamic concert style – which has won them many accolades from judges and fans alike – combines excellent choral work with creative staging that captures the drama of the music. Under the musical direction of Bob Bachelor, this group of performers sings a Broadway repertoire both in a formal choral formation and in a stylized Show Choir format. The Lyric Theatre Singers have performed hundreds of concerts and benefit performances, winning many awards for their outstanding choral sound and their unique performance style.
The Lyric Theatre is a long-standing producer and promoter of musical theatre in the Montreal area. What began in 1965 with a vision of a community based group presenting an annual stage production on the West Island has, thanks to the creation of The Lyric Theatre Singers in 1990, grown into a company of performers from all areas of the city, rehearsing and performing 10 months out of every year. Our members are given unique opportunities to create the highest level of musical theatre. In doing so, we provide a training ground and offer creative outlets to those interested in music and the arts.
